It is designed to be water resistant. It also features a tripod socket, to allow for easy mounting to tripods or monopods for extended periods of observation.

If you will be using the binocular in cold weather, it is highly recommended to use lithium batteries instead of alkaline.

Because the 15x50 IS is threaded to accept 58mm filters, you can use circular polarising filters when observing around water. A lens hood will also help in extremely bright or humid conditions.
